1100 block of Lavender Lane in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a residential burglary call at the location. When they arrived they found the resident who stated she and her husband had left their home for a short time and when they returned found their front door ajar. They looked inside the home and found rooms had been ransacked. They did not notice anything missing at the time. Surveillance footage revealed a white SUV with tinted windows parked in front of the residence. There was a “quick glimpse” of two people, believed to be the suspects of the burglary, walking toward the home. An investigation revealed a window that was not secured.
The residential burglary occurred between 1:45 p.m. and 2:10 p.m.
July 10
2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, an employee of the business at the location reported that a woman, described as a Black adult in her 40s, 5’11” tall and weighing about 200 lbs. wearing a colored crop top and blue shorts, entered the store and took multiple items, placed them into a stroller and left the business without attempting to pay. An employee followed her out of the store and confronted her, asking for a receipt for the items in the stroller. The suspect said she did not have to show a receipt and began throwing on the ground the items she had taken from the store. The employee had stopped the stroller with her foot, but then the suspect hit the employee with her fist.
The suspect then left the area at 7:28 p.m.
July 9
2800 block of Altura Avenue in La Crescenta, a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle. Security footage revealed a dark-colored sedan slowly driving eastbound on Altura Avenue and out of view, and then a dark-colored SUV driving rapidly westbound on Altura. The sedan stopped for about two minutes then drove off at a high rate of speed.
The theft occurred at 2:20 a.m.
3100 Alabama Street in La Crescenta, the owner of a vehicle that was parked at the location woke to the sound of loud power tools operating on the street. She left her house and spoke to a neighbor who told her the catalytic converter had just been stolen from her vehicle.
According to neighboring witnesses, they were inside their garage when they heard the sound of metal being cut. Since there had been catalytic converter thefts in the area they thought this curious. The witness observed two males next to the victim’s vehicle. The witness called 9-1-1 to report the crime and also yelled at the suspects. Both suspects then entered a dark colored SUV that was parked on the street and left the area.
The theft occurred between 2:10 a.m. and 2:20 a.m.
