Celebrating the holidays Montrose style

Mike Perry, President of the CV Chamber of Commerce

The holidays are fast approaching! Montrose is getting in the holiday spirit. Friday, Nov. 26 officially kicked off our rendition of an old-town Christmas along Honolulu Avenue. There will be horse drawn trolley rides, live bands playing holiday standards and frequent Santa sightings. For more information visit www.shopmontrose.com.

The 34th Annual Montrose Christmas Parade will be on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. Our grand marshal is Laffit Pincay, Jr. He is a retired horse jockey and will be bringing along with him many different kinds of horses in all shapes and sizes – something you definitely don’t want to miss! For more information, visit www.montrosechristmasparade.com.

Our Nov. 1 Artwalk was a great success. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and there was a warm breeze. We had 47 different artists with a wide variety of styles – truly something for everyone.

Our December mixer was on Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Laurie Jo Designs at 3528 Ocean View Blvd. in Montrose.

Thanks to mixer hosts Laurie Jo Phillips of Laurie Jo Designs and Andy Haynes from The Barn. We enjoyed a festive party with good food and drink, the presentation of new members, networking and raffle and a free gift for everyone! In the spirit of the season, the admission charge was only $5, and we hope to see everyone at our next mixer. Please contact the chamber if you have any questions.
