Walgreens in La Crescenta opened its doors in 2009 and recently joined the CV Chamber of Commerce. Manager Elainee Pantig thought that joining the chamber was a good way to get to know the Crescenta Valley community. Elainee became the Walgreens store manager about a year ago and has been an assistant manager at other locations for about six years. She currently lives out of the area but is looking to relocate to the Crescenta Valley. Like many have said before, “It’s such a tight knit community.” She loves the small town feel that the Crescenta Valley has.
Walgreens has many options for shopping. The first Tuesday of every month is Senior Day and seniors get additional discounts. If you’re shopping for everyday household items, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and grocery products, Walgreens has a nice selection to make your shopping experience convenient. Walgreens also has a good selection of beauty products. Jackie, Susan, Diana and Megan (employees at the beauty counter) will usually have coupons handy for extra savings! For those of you who knew and loved the old Cal-Med Pharmacy in La Cañada, you will love the Walgreens pharmacy! Lee, the former Cal-Med pharmacist, will greet you with a friendly smile and dispense your medicine. You can also get your immunizations and contact lenses at the Walgreens pharmacy. If you transfer your prescription from another location, the pharmacist will also give you a $25 gift card for your next purchase! For the tech savvy customer, Walgreens has an app for your smartphone where you can get the weekly ad and coupons, refill your prescriptions, print your pictures and it can also remind you when to take your medication! Walgreens has 16 employees and the store is open every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
