“Our Business is Your Business”

Recognizing Those Who Make a Difference

A few months ago our Chamber paid tribute to our county and city firefighters, first responders from the CV Sheriff Station and Glendale Police Dept., and doctors, nurses and staff at both USC Verdugo Hills and Adventist Health Glendale hospitals. We will never forget their dedicated service to our community nor will those of us who experienced a need forget their professionalism and helping hand. Thank you for being there for us!

Each year our Chamber recognizes those who, during the year, made a difference in our Crescenta Valley community. Our 2020 awardees are: Man of the Year, Keith Hobbs; Woman of the Year, Marianne Jennings; Volunteer of the Year, Mike Baldwin; Educator of the Year, Jennifer Freemon; Business of the Year, Ace Hardware of La Crescenta; Organization of the Year, Glendale Unified School District; Beautification Award, American Softub Co. (Todd & Stephanie Thornbury).

Our Recognition Awards ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. While normally a gala dinner event at an exclusive setting, due to health concerns this year’s event will be virtual. Details will be available on the Chamber website.
We are pleased to announce the following individuals have been added to our Chamber board of directors: Directors Jean Maluccio, Mike Padula, Dwight Sityar, and Donna Libra. Each brings a wealth of community involvement to our board.

Congratulations to each of you and welcome aboard!

Chamber Notes
Looking ahead … Save the date of Saturday, April 17, 2021 for our Chamber’s Hometown Country Fair event at CV Park. It’s one of the best family events of the year and always fun. Information will be available soon on our Chamber website (www.crescentavalleychamber.org) for those interested in a booth space or sponsorship package.

Monthly, for the past 13 years, CV Chamber members and volunteers have been picking up trash and debris along the La Crescenta Avenue off-ramp from the 210 Freeway. It is our way of keeping one of the main entries to our community pristine and beautiful. Earlier this year our Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce was awarded the Caltrans 2020 Volunteer of the Year award. If your organization or business is interested in participating and “giving back to the community,” please contact our Chamber office or Steve Pierce at (818) 259-5195.
Emergency Preparedness Tip

Be prepared for a planned or sudden loss of power. Flashlights, with fresh batteries, should be easily accessible; if you have an automatic garage door opener learn how to use the manual release; make sure you have a car or lighter plug for your cellphone; fill empty space in your freezer with containers of water which will keep food cold longer; and have a battery-powered radio to keep you informed.

CV Chamber Membership Opportunities If you are a Chamber member we are available to help your business plan a ribbon cutting, a grand re-opening of your business, or even help you organize promotional opportunities. For those of you who are not members but recognize the advantages of Chamber membership you should call the CV Chamber office at (818) 248-4957 or email us at info@crescentavalleychamber.org. Our Chamber’s motto is “Our Business is Your Business.”
