NEWS FROM THE CV CHAMBER

A Season of Thanksgiving

This month our Chamber will be announcing our annual Recognition Award selections for woman of the year, man of the year, volunteer of the year, business of the year, organization of the year, educator of the year, student of the year, our beautification award; the recipients of law enforcement and first responder honorees are selected by the CV Sheriff Station, California Highway Patrol, Glendale Police Dept. and the Los Angeles County Fire Dept. In a community where so many give so much it’s difficult to honor just one in each category. For that reason our Recognition Award announcements are, in reality, an opportunity for us to pause and thank each and every one of you for contributing to the greatness of our Crescenta Valley. It is truly a blessing to live and work in this incredible community.

Though 2021 has been challenging our Chamber and community has been supported by some amazing individuals and organizations: Congressman Adam Schiff, State Senator Anthony Portantino, State Assemblymember Laura Friedman, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Chris Waldheim of J’s Maintenance/J’s Maids, Robin Goldsworthy and the CV Weekly staff, Ardy Kassakhian (City of Glendale), Joe Kroening (Andy’s Transfer & Storage), the “can do” veterans from American Legion Post 288 and VFW Post 1614, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital CEO Dr. Armand Dorian and Deborah Weirick (director of Community and Donor Relations), Ken Biermann and the Chevy Chase Country Club, the La Crescenta Woman’s Club, Vince Iuculano and the YMCA of the Foothills, Mike and Pete Smith (Bob Smith Toyota), Mary Pinola and the Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Education Foundation, Mike Shaar (SIG Properties), resident Irene Cordoba, Ace Hardware of La Crescenta, the Crescenta Valley Water District, community volunteer Mary O’Keefe, Superintendent Dr. Vivian Ekchian and the Glendale Unified School District, Alissa and Eric Hwang (Alissa’s Ocean View Bar & Grill), Dwight Sityar and the Early Rodders classic cars, Dr. J D Speas and the Crescenta Cañada Pet Hospital, keyboardist Tony DiGiovanni, Los Angeles County Dept. of Parks and Recreation, Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Works (CV Yard) and our business/resident Chamber membership, board of directors, and numerous volunteers. We sincerely thank each of you for your invaluable support throughout the year!
