Falling into Family Fun

Hello, CV Weekly readers!  We hope everyone had a great summer full of fun family adventures and plenty of relaxation. It looks like fall has arrived on time this year and has brought with it a new collection of fall events with fun for the whole family, including the four-legged ones!

This Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Crescenta-Cañada Pet Hospital will be hosting a dog party at Crescenta Valley Park in the Hindenburg picnic area. A whole afternoon of fun is planned including games and food. Dress your dog in their best costume for a chance to win the costume contest or at least get a portrait done with the pet photographer. The CC pet staff, as well as various vendors, will be on hand to provide information and demonstrations on a wide variety of topics including oral health, microchipping, flea and tick prevention and nutrition. For more information, call CC Pet Hospital at (818) 248-3963.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, the Glendale Police Dept. will be holding an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come on down to police headquarters at 131 N. Isabel St. in Glendale for a full day of activities for the whole family. Attendance at this event is free to the public with free parking available in the Civic Center Parking Garage. For more information, call the police department at (818) 548-4818.

We are very excited to announce our upcoming October Business Mixer at Twelve Oaks Senior Living on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Historic Twelve Oaks was built in the 1930s to serve the community and is operated by a non-profit foundation. In recent years the management company tried to sell the land out from under the foundation, which was able to step in and stop the sale. Twelve Oaks was then closed until spring 2017. Current Executive Director Jesse Zamudio took over in December 2018. In Jesse’s time at Twelve Oaks the retirement facility has had an increased presence in the community.

Last but not least, we’re very excited to welcome the following Chamber members:
