A New Season Brings Change and Opportunities
As we enter fall, we’re choosing to embrace the changes this year has brought and those the new season will bring. Though Oktoberfest 2020 has been canceled this year, we remain optimistic about the emerging and innovative virtual events on the horizon. We were all in a comfort zone for so long and while it was as cozy as Montrose, perhaps our town needed this change. We grieve what was and cherish the memories we hold in that space but now we’re here to make new wonderful memories. The businesses we have had the pleasure of collaborating with have taught us many things and more than anything they have exemplified just how resilient we all are. Thank you to everyone and a special thank you to our small businesses for standing their ground and for keeping the spirit alive in this otherwise formidable time.
Chamber Updates:
We have the pleasure of introducing our new chair of the Ambassador Program, Analily Park. Some of you may know Analily from her involvement with the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and her La Cañada charity and PR work. We know her best for her always positive attitude and willingness to volunteer at our events, like Oktoberfest. Analily is a leader of our community and we are thrilled to have her lead our new Ambassador Program. For anyone interested in becoming an ambassador (all ages 16-plus are welcome) please reach out via email or social media.
For those of you familiar with CBD Comfort Zone, be sure to wish them a happy one year in business birthday! If you have not yet been to their shop, make sure to stop by next time you’re next door at Trader Joe’s. Owner Stu Meyer is knowledgeable in all things CBD and can surely assist you with any questions you have.
In other exciting news, we are hosting our second virtual LIVE webinar, which will be produced again by Stamina Wellness, on Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. on Instagram. You will not want to miss this next series, “Small Town, Big Dreams.” We will be interviewing the CEO of Verdugo Hills Hospital Keith Hobbs. Keith will go into detail about his upbringing here and how he came to be the leader he is today. He will be the first of many prominent figures we will be interviewing in this virtual series meant to inspire and instill a little bit of hope back into our beloved town. For more information visit our site MontroseChamber.org or follow us on social media.
Our GoFundMe is still active for anyone who has the means to support our efforts. The next three donors of any amount will receive a mask-chain gift courtesy of local jeweler An Old Soul Jewelry. Visit our social media for the link.
A big thank you to the CV Chamber for allowing us the opportunity to participate in honoring the heroes and those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001 in the annual 9/11 motorcade. We will never forget.
We look forward to assisting the CV Weekly with the drive-by Halloween tour this year. Halloween may look different this year but the tradition will continue on (with safety and caution)!
Businesses in need of hand sanitizer (by the gallon) can get in touch with us to set up a day and time for pickup/drop-off. The City of Glendale has been generous in providing us with this PPE to distribute.
Lastly, there are many different chamber opportunities and ways you can get involved. Anyone interested in joining the chamber can reach out to us for more information. We would love to host your virtual ribbon cutting ceremony and help promote you on our social media plus e-blasts. There are also sponsorships available for our upcoming webinars (as low as $25 opportunities because we know times have been tough). Get in contact with us for more information.
Stay safe, be well and keep supporting local businesses!
