Businesses just keep joining the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce! Let us introduce you to two new members who joined this past month.
Polet and Adis Derestaphanian opened their second Mattress Depot location about a year ago. They’ve served the La Crescenta community for close to 19 years, though, since opening the original store in Verdugo City in 1998.
Polet and Adis adore the community they live and work in. That’s the main reason they joined the chamber.
“We try to do whatever we can to help the community,” said Polet. “I think the best way to get in touch with that community is through the chamber.”
“Our children go to the local schools,” she continued. “We love the mountains, the wildlife. We all dread going down that hill and would rather stay up in the Crescenta Valley to get our shopping done. We’re your neighbors and we want to take the best care of you as a customer.”
Mattress Depot sells sheets, pillows, mattress protectors and more. Because they’re sticklers for quality, everything is made in the U.S. (except a few brands of sheets made of Indian cotton). There are mattresses for every budget level and they guarantee the best price. Military and law enforcement get a 10% discount. Check out the new store at 3812 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta or call (818) 330-9903.
Our second new member is Voors Theater Arts in La Crescenta. Owner and director Joanne Voors began her path to a career in theater as a young child in England. After training with the Royal Academy of Dance she performed in grand scale productions in Reno, Las Vegas and New York City. She decided to travel the world working for various cruise lines in their musical theater productions before moving to La Crescenta 20 years ago with her husband.
Joanne now brings musical theater to our community, offering people of all ages the opportunity to learn and grow through stage and theater acting, singing and dancing. Voors Theater Arts offers classes in ballet, tap, acting, improv and musical theater making the most of various recreation centers and theaters in the valley, including Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, Lutheran Church in the Foothills, YMCA of the Foothills and San Marino Rec Center.
Voors Theater Arts also offers a popular Summer Musical Theater Camp focused on fun, friendship and creativity. Campers work as a team and become a family of support during their four weeks together. It all culminates in a top-quality production. For more information, go to their website at www.voorstheaterarts.net or call Joanne Voors at (818) 326-3044.
