NEWS FROM THE MVCOC

A Stormy Time of Year…

September started off strong with some unexpected rainfall and while “stormy” is not always seen as a positive descriptor, it feels appropriate and even positive for this case.

We’re entering a season of passionate commotion. Not only did we recently have the opportunity to assist Grayson’s Tune Town in celebrating its 70th anniversary with a ribbon cutting ceremony but we have our 44th Annual Montrose Oktoberfest and Centennial + Community Awards Dinner just around the corner … and not to mention, a brand new MVCC website that launched just last week!

The 44th Annual Montrose Oktoberfest will have its usual notable delights: brats, German beer, pretzels, games and rides, contests (Mr./Mrs. Oktoberfest, Lil Mr./Lil Miss Oktoberfest, and stein holding), and live entertainment (Past Action Heroes, Honest Family Outlaws, The Mary Dyer Band and The German American Brass Band, to name a few); but we will also be featuring a few new delights! This year, guests can also look forward to enjoying Bud Light seltzers, purchasing Montrose Oktoberfest bucket hats, and skipping long ticket lines by pre-purchasing food/beverage/ride tickets online before the event (online ticket redemption booth located in front of Coffeebean; visit bit.ly/OKTOTIX to purchase). See you at Oktoberfest on Oct. 7 from noon to 10 p.m. Free entry, rain or shine!

We are also celebrating our 100th anniversary on Oct. 18 at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club at 6 p.m. Dinner tickets are currently on pre-sale for $75 (after Sept. 30 tickets will be $85, and there are no tickets sold at the door; limited availability until Oct. 10). Join us in celebrating this once-in-a-century milestone plus congratulating this year’s Community Award winners (to be announced in October’s article). For sponsorship opportunities and to purchase tickets please visit bit.ly/MVCC100th (case sensitive).

Lastly, be sure to check out our new and improved website that launched last week! MVCC members can now post their job listings plus news and offers for the public to see. Stay up-to-date with Montrose events and happenings by frequently visiting our website, MontroseChamber.org !
