Moments of Celebration & Reflection

May was a beautiful reminder of what makes Montrose so special. We kicked off the month with a festive Cinco de Mayo Mixer at Jenkins Properties, where we gathered with friends, Chamber members and community partners to celebrate our incredible MVCC scholarship recipients. A huge thank you to the YMCA of the Foothills for partnering with us to support these inspiring students as they begin their next chapter!

Later in the month, we were honored to co-host the Montrose Memorial Day ceremony alongside the Montrose Shopping Park Association at the Montrose Vietnam War Memorial. We were joined by an esteemed group of local dignitaries including keynote speaker Glendale Mayor Ara Najarian, U.S. Congresswoman Laura Friedman, Assemblymember Nick Shultz, Glendale City Councilmembers Dan Brotman, Vartan Gharpetian and Ardy Kassakhian, as well as former Mayor Paula Devine. We were also grateful for the presence of Glendale Police Chief Manuel Cid, Glendale Fire Chief Jeff Brooks, CV Sheriff’s Station Acting Captain Ryan Vienna and Altadena CHP Captain Mariano Santiago, who each brought fellow first responders to join in honoring our fallen heroes.

We were also joined by many members of the community and it was truly heartwarming to see everyone come together for this beautiful and meaningful ceremony. It served as a powerful reminder of remembrance, gratitude and the strength of our community.

As we step into summer, we’re working behind the scenes on some exciting upcoming events and new ways to help neighbors support neighbors. Stay connected and stay tuned – there’s always something meaningful happening in Montrose.
