Meet Mindy Stackpoole, 2018 Executive Board Member

Whether it’s through Chamber events, Rotary projects, the kids’ schools or the magazine, my goal is to enhance the way we relate to one another.”
– Mindy Stackpoole

If I could do anything in the world, I’d talk to people about what drives them to do what they do and how they plan to grow their passion around it. I’m an idea person and love what I’m doing. I publish an exclusive magazine for residents in the La Crescenta foothills called the La Crescenta-Montrose Neighbors. I joined the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber because it allows me to get to know so many more people in the area who appreciate where we live and want to see our local businesses thrive. We live in fast times, often times not looking up from our devices. My hope is that, through my involvement with the Chamber projects and events, we can get to know one another a little more. Not just where we live or what we do, but who we are and what this area means to us.

Mindy Stackpoole is a leading marketing and advertising expert, speaker and educator. She brings more than 20 years of campaign experience to La Crescenta-Montrose Neighbors, the publication she founded in 2017, which brings neighbors and local businesses closer together

The magazine is a lot of fun because I feature local families on the cover and they share their story of how they came to La Crescenta and what they love about this amazing community. I’ve created a platform for the high school kids to publish their work outside of something affiliated with the school. They can use the magazine in their portfolios when they apply to schools or a job, and it carries cachet. Not to mention what parent wouldn’t love to see their child’s work published in a magazine that reaches thousands of people? Our mission is simple, and that is to bring the neighborhood closer together with a positive and relevant community-focused magazine.

I’ve always wanted to create something of my own, where I could use my people skills, my creativity and my marketing background to help people. I enjoy making other people a big deal. And being able to run the magazine so close to home is a dream come true. I’m a problem-solver and I do it because I genuinely care about people. I get so inspired by every story shared with me, whether it’s the lawyer who still doesn’t quite know what he wants to be when he grows up to the teacher who just loves seeing her kids blossom as they learn.

The best part of what I’m doing is getting to know the people around me. So many families in the area are multi-generational. I met a woman the other day who told me her granddaughter is sixth generation in La Crescenta. I think that’s incredible and speaks volumes to the kind of people who make up the foothill community; it’s our little slice of Mayberry.

I keep pretty active with my super cool husband, Jeff, two fun-loving kids, Bella, age 8, and Eliana, age 3, two hyper dogs, Roxy and Thumber, two noisy guinea pigs whose names keep changing, two fish and a partridge in a pear tree. When I’m not working on the magazine, you can usually find me at CV Park cheering on my daughter’s softball team, chasing my 3-year-old around and walking the pupsters.
