Local students who are part of the University of Utah, Class of 2025 include:

Eric Chambers of Sunland; from La Cañada Flintridge: Thomas Decker, whose major is listed as pre business BS, Andrew Ignatian, whose major is also listed as pre business BS, and Mason Pirkey, whose major is listed as pre business BS; from La Crescenta: Bada Kim; Henry Taylor, whose major is listed as film and media arts BA.

Overall enrollment increased 4.2% to 34,424-up from 33,047 in fall 2020. The number of new transfer students also increased, up 2.3% to 1,448. The university also saw record highs in undergraduate and graduate enrollment with graduate students up 2.3% and undergraduates up 4.8%.

The University of Utah, located in Salt Lake City in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, is the flagship institution of higher learning in Utah. Katie Kim, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2022, has earned the spring 2021 Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.

Kim, from La Cañada Flintridge, is an economics major and a graduate of Harvard-Westlake School.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses earn the spring 2021 Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.

Kristen Quinonez, an English major from Glendale/La Crescenta, is a member of the Colgate University Class of 2024, and has earned the spring 2021 Dean’s Award with Distinction. Quinonez is a graduate of Harvard-Westlake School.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses during the spring 2021 semester earn the Dean’s Award with Distinction.

Colgate offers 56 majors and supports 25 Division I athletic teams on a campus of about 3,000 students in central New York.

Biola University welcomed students to the Biola community as they started their journey as an Eagle this fall. The following local residents began their Biola journey: Clara Chung from La Crescenta and Branden Meza from Sunland.

Biola’s incoming class represented a group of individuals who hailed from 41 states and U.S. territories and 44 countries around the world. A total of 842 undergraduate and graduate students started classes on Monday, Aug. 30 and finished their first semester on Friday, Dec. 17.

Biola University is a nationally ranked Christian university in the heart of Southern California. It was recently recognized as one of America’s best colleges, earning a spot in the top tier of the “best national universities” category of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges 2021 rankings.

The following local students have made the scholastic honor roll fall 2021 at Oregon State University. A total of 8,043 students earned a B-plus (3.5) or better to make the listing. To be on the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.
