Everyone knows how busy Santa is these days. So on Dec. 14 when he was spotted at Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children (Luskin OIC) everyone knew that it would be a special day. Many school children had appointments with their orthopaedic doctors for checkups and new casts or pointers on how to use crutches. Some were there for postop care and follow up appointments after surgery.

Unknown to them, four members of LCFOG (La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild) and members of the local California Highway Patrol were waiting to hand out toys and books to each child. Students from UCLA and USC came early to set up “toy stations” with dolls, footballs, puzzles, stuffed animals, games and much more. Santa was there to greet each child so there were many photo opportunities … and many happy children.

LCFOG is a local organization with a special goal: seeing that children who need orthopaedic care receive it from the best of the best regardless of their financial situation. They want all kids to Grow Well and Play Well.

LCFOG membership is open to any woman who would like to join this group, which meets on the first Thursday of the month, September through June.
