It was an evening filled with fun, food and great music at the recent Kiwanis Club of La Cañada holiday party, held at the home of Ellie Wildermuth.
The highlight of the event was an a cappella performance of holiday music by the La Cañada High School Chamber singers. Before departing, the singers were presented with a $500 donation from the LC Kiwanis Club. It was presented by La Cañada Mayor Terry Walker who is also a member of the club. The donation will help to further the work of the student singers, under the auspices of LCHS Choral director Dr. Jeff Brookey.
Mayor Walker worked double-duty as she dressed as Santa’s hostess, serving food and desserts and making sure everyone enjoyed the evening.
Those interested in joining the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada are welcome to attend a lunch meeting. The goal of the club is to help youth by sponsoring community projects and scholarships. The group meets every Wednesday at 11:50 a.m. at Descanso Gardens in the Van de Kamp Hall. Visit www.lacanadakiwanis.org and click on “Meetings” to reserve a seat.
