In November, the Glendale Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting celebration for the 14-year anniversary of the Lawrence Anthony Earth Organization (LAEO), an international non-profit whose U.S. headquarters are based in Glendale. Chamber President Judy Kendall  and representatives from the offices of Senator Anthony Portantino and Assemblymember Laura Friedman each presented LAEO with certificates of recognition and congratulations for their achievements.

Formed in 2003 and co-founded by Dr. Lawrence Anthony, world-renowned South African conservationist, explorer and author of three best-selling books, and Barbara Wiseman, Glendale-based management and public relations consultant, the organization has expanded to 26 chapters in 19 countries.
