Showing Their Love

Dignity Health employees and the community came together to donate their hair to Locks of Love, the non-profit that provides custom hair pieces at no cost to children dealing with hair loss related to a medical condition.

International celebrity hairstylist Anh Co Tran made the 10 inch-long cuts and donations in a pop-up salon inside Glendale Memorial Hospital’s lobby. His team also buzzed people’s hair in solidarity with Riley. For people who buzzed their head, Dignity Health donated $500 to the Locks of Love foundation.

The event was in support of 7-year-old Riley Sylvaria – a child with alopecia who garnered attention when a video went viral of her father shaving his head in support of her – and other children with similar conditions. Footage of Riley and her father is featured in the latest Dignity Health commercial. Riley and her family were onsite to help chop off people’s long hair and to bring the community together as a reminder that we are stronger together.
