The Junior League of Pasadena, Inc. (JLP) welcomed 37 new members to its provisional class. Throughout this first year, the provisional class participates is various JLP training, teambuilding and community activities. The year concludes with Kids in the Kitchen (KITK), a one-day health and nutrition event for area youth and families in spring 2015. An initiative of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., KITK is designed to help communities address childhood obesity and promote healthy and active lifestyles. This year’s provisional class is full of energy and ready to build on last year’s event that was attended by over 200 children and parents from the San Gabriel Valley.

In other news, Jacob Maarse Florists and the Junior League of Pasadena, Inc. are kicking off the holiday season and benefitting a worthy cause with its annual holiday shopping event.

The holiday shopping party will be held tonight, Thursday, Nov. 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jacob Maarse Florists, 655 E. Green St. in Pasadena. Attendees will enjoy food, beverages and music while shopping at the exclusive Pasadena florist. Guests will also receive a 10% discount on all pre-ordered holiday arrangements and all purchases made that evening. Additionally, Jacob Maarse Florists will donate 10% of all sales at the event to the Junior League of Pasadena, Inc.
