The Campbell Center announced it has entered into a partnership with the Forest Lawn Memorial–Parks & Mortuaries on a 2017 Christmas ornament project. Each year, Forest Lawn assembles a number of Christmas trees to be donated to needy families in the community through the Salvation Army. This year, the ornaments for the trees are being created by clients of The Campbell Center.
“We are extremely excited about our partnership with The Campbell Center,” said Thomas Smith, Forest Lawn Event Planning manager. “What makes it deeply meaningful is the fact that the ornaments are the work of the talented hands of the very special men and women at TCC who have very special abilities.”
In addition to the ornaments for the trees, the TCC clients are also creating a special ornament for Forest Lawn Memorial–Parks & Mortuaries to give to their 900 employees at the company’s annual Christmas luncheon in December.
“Anytime we have an opportunity to highlight our clients’ abilities, we welcome the chance to do so. We are grateful to Forest Lawn Memorial–Parks & Mortuaries for presenting us with just such an opportunity and value our partnership,” said Bruce Fox, president of The Campbell Center board of directors. “It is TCC’s mission to ensure that our clients have the option to be engaged in activities that bring out the best in them.”
The Campbell Center has been an integral part of the greater Glendale community for the past 63 years, distinguishing itself as an agency that has long been a role model for others within the developmental disabilities service arena. On a daily basis, TCC serves more than 140 clients, partnering with them in their journey as they focus on their abilities, discover their strengths and pursue gainful employment in community-based businesses.
