Lyla Currim, a peace & conflict studies major from La Cañada Flintridge has been awarded the Dean’s Award for academic excellence by Colgate University for the spring 2014 semester.
The Dean’s Award is given to students with a 3.30 or higher grade-point average while enrolled in 3.75 or more course hours.

William Spurgeon of La Crescenta, a junior majoring in robotics engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), recently completed an intense, hands-on research project in London. The project was titled RGS-IBG Expeditions Database and Report collection.
At WPI, all undergraduates are required to complete a research-driven, professional-level project that applies science and technology to address an important societal need or issue. About two-thirds of students complete a project at one of the university’s more than 40 off-campus project centers, which are located around the world.
