The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada will celebrate its 79th Annual Installation Dinner of Officers and Directors & Special Awards Presentation on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at Oakmont Country Club, 3100 Country Club Drive in Glendale. The evening will begin with social time and no-host cocktails at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. 

Caroline Que Anderson will be installed as the Club’s 2026–27 president, succeeding Alice Perez who has served two terms as Club president.

A longtime La Cañada Flintridge resident and dedicated community leader, Anderson joined the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada in August 2020. She joined the leadership team as a director during her first year and has served continuously on the board of directors since 2021, most recently as president-elect. 

Youth service has been an important part of Anderson’s Kiwanis involvement. In 2023, she helped revitalize the LCHS 7/8 Builders Club and LCHS Key Club, recruiting advisors and students to rebuild the programs following the pandemic. Both programs are now active and developing young leaders in service. 

Anderson also serves as president of the La Cañada Unified School District Governing Board. She is a former six-year director and president of the La Cañada Educational Foundation and serves on the executive board of the Foothills Community Scholarship Foundation. Her community involvement has included coordinating student volunteers and connecting young people with opportunities to serve throughout the community. 

Her service has been recognized with honors including the 2023 Kiwanis Distinguished Service Award, 2023 Congressional Woman of the Year, 2025 Les Tupper Award and 2026 California Asian American & Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus Assembly District 41 AAPI Person of the Year.
