Emma Angold of La Cañada earned a bachelor’s degree in visual arts. Angold graduated cum laude. Kevin Ernst of La Crescenta earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Margaret Guinnip of Tujunga earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. Guinnip graduated cum laude. Sienna Hill of La Cañada Flintridge earned a bachelor’s degree in international business. Kathryn Moser of Glendale earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Moser graduated summa cum laude. Moser participated in the university’s honors program designed to provide smart, passionate and engaged students with challenges and opportunities to allow them to achieve their intellectual goals. The program emphasizes teaching excellence, small seminar-style classes, and a core curriculum of innovative courses. Kasey Okazaki of La Cañada earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. Okazaki completed the requirements for graduation in January of this year Kaylan Rothrock of La Crescenta earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations. Rothrock graduated magna cum laude.

Michael Peters from La Cañada participated in Gonzaga University graduation exercises during the commencement ceremony held on Sunday, May 7 in Spokane’s Veterans’ Memorial Arena.
Peters either completed his undergraduate degree or are expected to complete his degree requirements this year.
Liam Cascelli earned placement on the Gonzaga University Dean’s List for spring semester 2017. Students must earn a 3.5 to 3.84 grade-point average to be listed.

More than 3,700 Baylor University students were named to the dean’s academic honor roll for the 2017 spring semester including Gabriella S Lopez, Hankamer School of Business, and McKenna Rose Middleton, College of Arts and Sciences both from Glendale; Sophie Grace Schnee, School of Education, from La Cañada; Elena Gabrielle Leon, Louise Herrington School of Music, from La Crescenta.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7, while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours. Baylor University, located in Waco, Texas, is a private Christian University and a nationally ranked research institution.

Mackenzie Knight of La Crescenta, an art and design student studying for her Bachelor of Arts degree, was among the more than 8,700 Iowa State University students recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the spring semester 2017 dean’s list.
Students named to the dean’s list must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.

Viviana Sandoval-Walsh of Montrose was named to the dean’s list at Quinnipiac University for the spring 2017 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester.
Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston.

Rebecca Kahn of La Cañada was named to the University of Hartford dean’s list.

Jane Lee of La Crescenta was among the 355 graduates of Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa who received diplomas at the 2017 commencement ceremony on May 5. Lee graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and health and human performance with an emphasis in exercise science.
Dordt College offers a comprehensive Christian education rooted in the Reformed tradition.

Caylie Denham of Tujunga excelled during the fall 2016 semester at Hofstra University, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the dean’s list.

Michelle Lavner of La Cañada graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism at Emerson College’s 137th commencement ceremony held on May 14.
Approximately 975 bachelor’s degrees were conferred during the undergraduate exercises and nearly 270 master’s degrees were conferred during the graduate exercises.

University of Alabama student Lauren Michelle Shilling of La Cañada was named to the president’s list for spring 2017.
A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all As). The UA dean’s and president’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Wheaton College student Erika Johnson of Glendale was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester. To earn dean’s list honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.
Adam Kenneth Wolcott of La Crescenta graduated from Wheaton College magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in business economics and a minor in Spanish.

Symeon Stefan from La Cañada was named to the Miami University spring 2017 president’s list. Stefan was also among the more than 3,000 students who received degrees during spring commencement on May 13. Stefan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in biology University honors summa cum laude.
Miami University students who are ranked in the top 3% of undergraduate students within each division for second semester 2015-16 were named to the president’s list recognizing academic excellence.
