On May 7, Verdugo Hills Post 288 of the American Legion elected its officers for the July 2014 – June 2015 fiscal year. The new officers and their branch of service are: Commander Lynn McGinnis/Air Force, First Vice Commander    Warren Spayth/Marines, Second Vice Commander Gerry Collins/Army, Third Vice Commander Darren Azarian/Army, Adjutant Mike Baldwin/Army, Finance Officer Art Napiwocki/Navy, Chaplain Andy Gero/Army & Air Force, Judge Advocate Mel Paulson/Air Force, Sgt. at Arms Dave Granish/Air Force, Service Officer Ron Bularz/Navy and Historian Richard Bame/Navy.

These officers were installed on June 4.

Post 288 is located at 4011 La Crescenta Ave., between Montrose and Honolulu avenues, in La Crescenta. Post 288 meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 1930 hours.

All veterans are invited to attend and the first year’s membership is free.
