The Patrons’ Club of Glendale Community College held a luncheon for its scholarship recipients at the Los Robles Café on campus, hosted by the Culinary Arts Depart.

This year, the Patrons’ Club awarded 30 scholarships and 30 grants-in-aid to deserving students with a total amount of $23,500 distributed. Funds for these scholarships are generated from the yearly fashion show and silent auction, which this year will be held on Nov. 2 at the Castaway Restaurant in Burbank.

Club president Carolyn Payne welcomed faculty, students and guests, and thanked the scholarship committee for a job well done. President Payne introduced First Vice President Betty Musacco who led the invocation and flag salute.

GCC Supt./President Dr. Dawn Lindsay introduced Dean, Student Affairs Dr. Paul Schlossman who commended the Patrons’ Club for its dedicated efforts in helping students achieve their goals. Supt./President Emeritus Dr. John Davitt has been a dedicated supporter of the Patrons’ Club and President Carolyn Payne introduced Lisa H. Brooks, executive director, Glendale College Foundation.

The Scholarship Committee includes Judy Gorham, Julie Barrabee, Pat Beggs, Jan Craig, Leila Layseca, Betty Musacco, Betty Myers, Carolyn Payne and Karen Wharton.

This year’s recipients, which are all transferring to four year universities, are Ritika Pandita, Sona Ter-Yegisbyan, Walter Hardesty, Rauel Martinez, Nelli Sargsyan, George Skriabin, Narek Grigoryan, Christopher Mandalian, Raymond Sarkis, Lesly Ghiglino, William Fregozo, Sevada Hakopian, Hoolyaneb Bagdassaran, Daniel Caballeero, Jorge Arias, Alexander Barriga, Chelsea Bogdon, Ankeet Vakharia, Luisne Madoyan, Jaenbel Cayanan, Sarah Stone, Paul Marmororstein, Tomas Pascali, Natalie Haritoonian, Ivan Abarenox, Daisy Mohandassi, Derek Flores and Susanne Chion.

The family memorials were awarded to Sally Zajac, H. Rex Craig, Matt Gillespie, Hedwig Murman, Connie Batenhorst, Joan Logie and Pauline Richardson. Past Presidents awards were given to Joan Logie and Pauline Richardson.
