Members of the La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild (LCFOG) were in attendance at the annual meeting of the Charitable Children’s Guild on May 7 at the Orthopaedic Institute for Children (OIC), formerly Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital, where they reported on their volunteer and fundraising activities of the past year.

La Cañada Flintridge is one of five auxiliaries that make up the Charitable Children’s Guild, all of which offer volunteer and fundraising support to Orthopaedic Institute for Children. Their sister auxiliaries are located in Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, and in Calexico where OIC maintains a clinic for international patients and provides care for a variety of injuries and congenital birth defects. OIC is one of the oldest non-profits in Los Angeles; for 103 years OIC has provided care to children with musculoskeletal conditions regardless of the family’s ability to pay.

The Charitable Children’s Guild and its auxiliaries, including LCFOG, are now raising funds for the installation of a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center at the downtown campus of OIC.
