Wheaton College student Meghan Lacey of La Cañada Flintridge performed in “Confessions,” the annual spring dance show presented by Zoe’s Feet Dance Ministry.
Zoe’s Feet is a Wheaton College ministry for dancers to use dance as worship and to the use their gifts to minister to others through dance.

Clayton Weirick of La Cañada was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Weirick is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts & Sciences.
To qualify for the dean’s list in the College of Arts & Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

Sharon Kim of Glendale, a media arts production major, and Lydia Lou of La Crescenta, a marketing communications major, and Emily Mccoy, also of La Crescenta, a media arts production major, were named to Emerson College’s dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester. The requirement to make the dean’s list is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

Alessandra Luckey and Cynthia Firstman of La Crescenta and Faith Garcia of Glendale were recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Luckey was initiated at Arizona State University; Firstman and Garcia at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
They are among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership.
Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 under the leadership of Marcus L. Urann who had a desire to create a different kind of honor society: one that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines. Today, the Society has chapters on more than 300 campuses in the United States and the Philippines.

On April 11 Lia Elizabeth Leibman presented her original research titled “Reproductive Assurance Among Populations of the American Bellflower” as part of The Whitman College Undergraduate Conference.
The 19th Annual Whitman Undergraduate Conference brought together students from every academic area of the college to share their research and creative projects with the campus community. The projects are a result of the students’ work in their courses, senior theses, summer internships and study abroad.
Leibman is a graduate of Crescenta Valley High School and is currently a student at Whitman College.

Sami I. Daher of Glendale, a junior at Oregon State University and a psychology major, made the scholastic honor roll winter term.
He was among 4,481 students who earned a B-plus (3.5) or better. To be on the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.
