The ALF Cañada Auxiliary of Professionals, known as CAP, is offering two $1,000 scholarships to high school graduates in the La Cañada Flintridge and La Crescenta areas who are attending a two-year college or accredited occupational program in the fall. Applications are available online at ALFlintridge.org or may be obtained from counselors and/or scholarship staff at the applicant’s school. Further information is available by calling (818) 790-1328. The scholarship application deadline is May 3.
CAP is an auxiliary of Assistance League of Flintridge. Members of CAP participate in several philanthropic programs that are supported by sales from the Bargain Box, the Assistance League’s thrift shop. In addition to the scholarship program, CAP administers Cappy Bears and Cap Care PACs, and works with ALF on Operation School Bell. To learn more about philanthropic programs, social activities and membership, visit ALFlintridge.org or call (818) 790-1328.
Last year’s scholarship recipients were Inesa Wenn, a graduate of La Cañada High School, and Nicholas Kahdian, a graduate of Crescenta Valley High School. Both Wenn, who plans to become a licensed marriage and family therapist, and Kahdian, who is focusing on finance and banking, planned to attend Glendale City College.
