Isabella Portantino of La Cañada Flintridge has earned a $15,000 annual presidential scholarship to Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. A senior in La Cañada High School, Portantino is interested in studying psychology and communications in college.
Albright College awards presidential scholarships in the amount of $15,000 per year to students with outstanding academic records. Presidential scholars generally rank in the top 5% of their graduating class and demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to service.
Founded in 1856, Albright College is a diverse community of learners cultivating integrity, curiosity, connection and resilience. The college’s flexible curriculum encourages students to combine and cross majors to create individualized academic programs. At Oregon State University, Sophia R. Daher, a sophomore studying public health, and Grant James, a sophomore studying business administration, both from Glendale, have earned a grade of 3.5 or better and earned a place on the scholastic honor roll winter term.
5,529 students earned a B-plus (3.5) or better to make the listing. To be on the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.
