YWCA Glendale and Pasadena-Foothill Valley Partner

The YWCA Glendale and YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley are officially joining forces to become YWCA Glendale and Pasadena.

The structure of this formal, long-term relationship is designed to further each organization’s commitment to serving women and children in the cities of Glendale and Pasadena, while strengthening the capacity and sustainability. YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley will become a subsidiary of YWCA Glendale and, as the parent organization, YWCA Glendale has changed its name to YWCA Glendale and Pasadena. The two organizations will have fully integrated leadership, operations, and programming under Tara Peterson, chief executive officer.

This decision was made after a year of thoughtful and strategic exploration funded by the Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative, which included feedback from YWCA constituents and key stakeholders. YWCA Glendale’s domestic violence programs (serving survivors throughout LA County), girls’ empowerment, and racial justice programs will continue to operate from the Glendale location and YWCA Pasadena’s girls’ empowerment programs will continue to operate in Pasadena.
