The YMCA of the Foothills will offer the staff of the La Cañada Unified
School District group fitness classes held at La Cañada Elementary beginning Thursday, April 14 from 3:15 – 4:15 p.m.
These classes will be free and available to all staff.
The group fitness program will offer body conditioning exercises led by experienced YMCA instructor Diane Boccia. The program was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic but will resume in the next two weeks and continue weekly until the end of the school year in June.
“We are thrilled to restart this program and provide healthy living options to our local teacher community,” said Lori Durbin, director of Membership & Healthy Living at the YMCA of the Foothills. “As a parent, I understand the full value of the educational leaders and providers in our districts, and we need to continue supporting them any way we can. At the Y, this is how we can show our support.”
Healthy living, social responsibility and youth development are the three focus areas of the YMCA of the Foothills. The mission of the Y is to organize, develop, finance and conduct programs for an association of persons of all ages that will, by putting Christian principles into practice, enrich the quality of their lives spiritually, mentally, physically and socially.
