Dignity Health – Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center (GMHHC) has granted a total of $90,000 to four non-profit organizations that are making a difference by addressing the health care needs of local underserved communities.

“We are grateful to be partnering with Family Promise of the Verdugos, Hope Through Housing Foundation, Kids Community Dental Clinic, and Wellness Works,” said Jill Welton, GMHHC president.

Family Promise of the Verdugos received $25,000 to provide shelter and access to supportive services for homeless families with children that will result in employment and permanent housing. Hope Through Housing Foundation was granted $25,000 for its “Connections to Care” program, focused on strengthening the physical and mental health of low-income seniors and disabled adults. The Kids’ Community Dental Clinic will increase access to dental screenings and oral health education for low-income and homeless children thanks to $20,000 in funding. Wellness Works received $20,000 to continue its comprehensive care for veterans with a combination of alternative healing modalities, psycho-educational therapy, workforce development, preventative oral care and an in-depth trauma informed course.

“Through our Community Health Grant Program, we are able to work collaboratively with these select organizations and improve the well-being of the communities we serve, from the needs of our youth to the needs of our seniors; everyone is deserving of our support and we are appreciative of the work of our community partners,” said Cassie McCarty, director of Mission Integration at GMHHC.

Since 1991, the Community Grants Program at Dignity Health has awarded nearly $80 million to more than 3,500 community-based health improvement projects. For more information, visit
