Lauren Michelle Shilling of La Cañada was named to the University of Alabama’s dean’s list for fall 2017. A total of 12,594 students enrolled during the 2017 fall semester at UA were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). The UA dean’s and president’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Lyla Iannaccone, an arts administration major from Glendale, has been named to the dean’s list at Butler University in Indianapolis for the fall 2017 semester.
Any degree-seeking undergraduate student earning at least 12 academic hours of grade credit in a given semester may be placed on the dean’s list of the college of enrollment if the semester grade point average is in the top 20% of all eligible students in that college. Courses taken under the pass/fail option do not count toward 12 academic hours of grade credit.
In the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, it is the top 20% of COPHS students in each curricular year who are named to the dean’s list.

Viviana Sandoval-Walshwere of Montrose was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Quinnipiac University.
To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower can C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester.
Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston. The university enrolls 7,000 full-time undergraduate and 3,000 graduate and part-time students in 110 degree programs through its schools of business, communications, education, engineering, health sciences, law, medicine, nursing and college of arts and sciences.

Wheaton College student Erika Johnson was named to the 2018 women’s track and field roster.

Jason Rowton of La Cañada was named to Fort Lewis College’s dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester. Rowton’s major is not declared.
To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.6 or better in no fewer than 15 credit hours of graded college level work and have completed all work for which they are registered by the end of the semester.

More than 2,000 students received degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison during the winter commencement ceremony on Dec. 16. About 1,150 graduates took part. Among these were Tucker Heaton of La Cañada who graduated from College of Letters and Science with a Bachelor of Arts in history and Christopher Anderson of La Crescenta who graduated from College of Letters and Science, doctor of Philosophy, Physics.

Olga Mastrodemos of La Cañada was named to the 2017 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Mastrodemos is a senior in the College of Liberal Arts.
To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.

Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania announced that Aidan Phillips of La Cañada Flintridge, Class of 2021, has been placed on the Gettysburg College dean’s honor list for outstanding academic achievement in the fall 2017 semester.
Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester’s work are placed on the college’s dean’s honor list.
