In a related initiative, a recent disaster preparedness event took place at Two Stroke Park attracting a notable turnout from the community. Organized by Council member Dede Mueller, the event underscored the importance of being prepared for emergencies. Notably, the rain did not stop it from being a great event and attendees appreciated the opportunity to engage with local agencies, including the sheriff’s department, the California Highway Patrol, and the fire department, which handed out emergency radios to participants.

Resources covered a range of topics including creating emergency kits, understanding evacuation routes, and developing communication plans for crises. The collaboration of local safety officials highlighted the community’s commitment to promoting readiness and resilience within the Crescenta Valley.

Community members expressed gratitude for the insights shared at the event and recognized the significance of being prepared for unexpected situations. The Council’s focus on enhancing public safety and facilitating community involvement was evident throughout the gathering.
