New Train Conductor at Descanso Gardens . . .

Thank you to Ruth Sowby and CVW for the nice article on my becoming an “official” conductor on the Descanso Gardens Railroad. It’s true: “I’m a big kid who loves trains.”

Joining the ranks of conductors at Descanso Gardens is already a fun experience. I’m looking forward to greeting many more riders, young and old, and ensuring their safety during their journey through the Gardens. 

While I am pleased to be featured in the article, a number of volunteers are currently serving as conductor and/or stationmaster. 

So, if there’s a big kid in you who loves trains – ages 18 and over are welcome – please consider becoming a volunteer supporting the Descanso Railroad. Calling the Gardens at (818) 949-4200 or emailing volunteer@descansogardens.org will get you on the “right track.”
