Hating the president

I couldn’t believe my eyes when Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, on Feb. 4 tore off a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union address as he finished it.

In an unusual show of utter hatred for the President, Speaker Pelosi tore off the address for everyone to see and put it aside on the desk. She was sitting with Vice President Mike Pence just behind the President and, as soon as Trump finished amid cheers and clapping, Speaker Pelosi could not wait to show her hatred for the President. It was a despicable and undignified act by a person, third in line to succeed as President if something happened to the President and the vice president.

It was one of the most brilliant speeches by any President. Trump got repeated applause for his accomplishments, his plans and vision, the eternal American spirit and for the heroes he invited and honored. However, Pelosi chose to show her reaction with a demeaning, inappropriate and unseemly act.

Afterwards, she told a questioner, “It was the courteous thing to do considering the alternatives.”

Wow! Coming from the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, it could also be termed as vulgar.
