Feast of St. Joseph Celebrated at St. Bede

Celebrating the Feast of St. Joseph at St. Bede has been a tradition since 1984 when the St. Bede Italian Catholic Federation Branch 374 was founded. In 2026, the Branch proudly marked the 10th anniversary of the St. Bede ICF Branch 374 silent auction (excluding the COVID years), a milestone that reflects the continued generosity and dedication of the local community.

As the largest fundraiser of the year, this event is made possible through the tireless efforts of its members, students, parishioner volunteers and the generous donors for the auction.

The Italian Catholic Federation (ICF) is a family-oriented national non-profit organization devoted to strengthening faith, celebrating family and bringing people of all ages together. Through its monthly meetings and events, fellowship is fostered, an appreciation for Italian culture is promoted and meaningful opportunities for spiritual growth are provided.

Plenty of goodies were auctioned off at the Feast of St. Joseph.

Philanthropy is at the heart of Branch 374. Each year, numerous charitable organizations are supported, including Skidettes, Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Smile Train, St. John’s Seminary, The Pregnancy Help Center, Elizabeth House and Wounded Warriors, among many others.

Several scholarships are given annually to deserving students at St. Bede School who demonstrate excellence in service or music, as well as an additional scholarship to a student at St. Monica Academy in Montrose.

All charitable giving is made possible through the net proceeds from the annual silent auction held each March during the celebration of the Feast of St. Joseph.

Meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month; social hour and setup begin at 6 p.m. and a potluck dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by a brief meeting.

Joining St. Bede Branch 374 is simple. Membership is open to people of all ethnic backgrounds. The only requirement is that members be Catholic – or married to a Catholic – and support the St. Francis-inspired motto: “Preach the Gospel at all times; use words when needed.”
