Mildred Kritzman

Mildred “Millie” Kritzman
Nov. 16, 2025

It is with our great loss to announce the passing of Mildred “Millie” Kritzman on Sunday, the 16th of November in La Cañada. She attained the age of 92 years and passed peacefully after her body was no longer strong enough to continue here on Earth.

Millie was born in Glendale to William Stollmeyer Jr. and Pearl Alice Lommer. She resided in Burbank, frequenting the Bob’s Big Boy drive-thru location on Hollywood Way, and received training from Glendale college.

Exhibiting exceptional penmanship, directly from high school she was recruited to work at the Chrysler Auto Dealership. Her next career brought her to Shell Oil Co. in Downtown Los Angeles where she served for 12 years as the secretary of the Treasury Dept. She resigned honorably to raise a son, be a property manager and a full time homemaker and wife – always welcome to return to Shell Oil Co.

From a family of artists, Millie created oil paintings and wood carvings and volunteered as a flower arranger for the La Cañada Presbyterian Church. She gave tours of both the Huntington Library Gardens and Descanso Gardens. Remarkably, she donated thousands of hours to the Huntington Library Hospital Guild Collection to raise funds for the hospital. She never returned to Shell Oil.

She raised two Eagle Scouts, producing seven lovely grandchildren. She was a loyal and devoted wife to George Kritzman who passed at 99½ years of age. She will be missed by many close friends and neighbors.

Service for Millie will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on the 12th of December. Additionally, a local celebration of her life will occur at the La Cañada Presbyterian Church, 626 Foothill Blvd., on the 20th of December. All are welcome!

Love is … Millie.
