On Tuesday,  United States Magistrate Judge Rozella A. Oliver in Los Angeles ordered Jonathan Rinderknecht – the defendant charged with starting what became the Palisades Fire in January 2025 – detained. This means he will remain in federal custody without bond while the criminal case against him is pending.
