Nov. 8

2100 block of Cross Street in La Crescenta, a resident looked inside the interior of her vehicle and found the glove compartment and center console open. She reported several items had been stolen overnight. 

Nov. 5

900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, a woman reported that she had entered a store and began to shop. When she finished she proceeded to the cashier to checkout and discovered her purse zipper was open and wallet was missing. She reported that as she was shopping she began to receive text messages concerning charges on her credit card. She declined the charge on the cards she had been notified about but had not yet realized her wallet was missing. 

The incident is still under investigation. The theft occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 12:47 p.m.

Nov. 4

4900 block of Del Monte Road in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident reported that when he approached his vehicle he noticed the trunk was open. He found that items were stolen and the interior of the vehicle had been ransacked overnight. 

Oct. 27

2100 block of Cross Street in La Crescenta, a resident reported that she had placed an order on Oct. 21 for three new iPhones through Spectrum and was told by the Spectrum representative that delivery would be in about three to four days. On Oct. 27 she received a cancellation email from Spectrum. She contacted Spectrum and reordered the phones. On Oct. 31 she received the cellphones and placed them inside her home. She then received a call from a person stating s/he was a Spectrum representative and informed her she needed to return one of the iPhones because it needed to be replaced. She was instructed to go to the UPS store and return it immediately; however, the resident informed the supposed Spectrum representative she was not able to do so and would do it later. On Nov. 3 she did go to the UPS store and returned the phone and received a shipping label verifying the return. A few hours later she contacted Spectrum to share the tracking number. She was then told by a real Spectrum representative they did not request the return of the phone. She was transferred to Spectrum’s Fraud Department. She contacted UPS but was told it was unable to provide information regarding the tracking number or shipping address. 

The theft by false pretenses occurred between Oct. 27 and Nov. 6.
