Oct. 30

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, an employee reported witnessing two men enter the store and walk toward the aisle where alcohol beverages are displayed. The employee saw the men take a total of four bottles of whiskey from the display. The employee lost track of the men in the store for a few minutes. She stood at one of the exit doors and saw the men run toward the door to exit. One of the men was carrying one bottle of liquor. The men fled the store. Another employee reported that apparently the three other bottles of whiskey had been dropped and had shattered in another aisle.

The first man is described as Hispanic in his 20s, 5’4″ tall and weighing 160 pounds. He had a shaved head and was wearing a black shirt and black pants. The second man was described as black, in his 20s, 5’6″ tall and weighing 140 pounds. He had a shaved head and was wearing a black shirt and black pants and was carrying a black backpack. The incident occurred between 6:50 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Oct. 29

4300 block of Ocean View Boulevard in Montrose, equipment was stolen from a vehicle overnight.

4200 block of Woodleigh Lane in La Cañada, deputies responded to a call concerning a burglary that had just occurred. A witness reported seeing two men running out of the front door of a residence. The men entered a parked vehicle and sped away. Deputies found the back French doors had been smashed and nothing was reported stolen.

The incident occurred between 8:50 p.m. and 8:55 p.m.

5500 block of Rock Castle Drive in La Cañada, deputies responded to a call from a witness who observed two suspects, described as black males, attempting to enter her neighbor’s home.

Oct. 26

1700 Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a woman returned to the location where she had parked her vehicle and discovered an eight-foot scratch on the front passenger side of her vehicle. The damage occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Oct. 25

3100 block of Altura Avenue in La Crescenta, car speakers and yard working equipment were stolen from a locked garage. The resident stated earlier in the week he had entered his garage and noticed a man who was an acquaintance of his roommate in the garage. He asked the man why he was there; he didn’t reply but simply left. Nothing was taken at that time. The burglary occurred between Oct. 11-25.

Oct. 20

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a 47-year-old La Crescenta man was arrested for embezzlement of a vehicle. Deputies responded to a call concerning a vehicle that was parked at the location as reported as embezzled on Oct. 19. A witness identified the driver as the La Crescenta man. The man’s employer owned the vehicle. He allegedly did not return the vehicle to his employer.
