Oct. 25

900 block of Town Center Drive in La Cañada, a witness reported a suspect, described as a male black, entered the store and walked directly to the shelves where the alcohol was kept. She witnessed the suspect conceal a bottle of alcohol on his person and walk out of the store without attempting to pay for the item. The loss prevention employee confronted the suspect who abruptly screamed, ran out of the store and across the parking lot. A witness reported seeing another person sitting in a  silver Hyundai with a driver waiting just outside the entrance of the store. When the witness approached the vehicle, the driver drove away.

The theft occurred at 12:04 p.m.

4400 block of Oak Grove Drive in La Cañada, a driver reported that the windshield of his vehicle was damaged when an unknown object hit it as he drove by the La Cañada High School parking lot at 7:30 p.m.

 

 

Oct. 24

100 block of Inverness Drive in La Cañada, handguns, jewelry and other items were stolen from a home. A resident reported that, as he returned home and entered his front door, he heard a sound coming from his bedroom. Fearing someone was in his residence, he immediately exited his home and noticed a gate to the entrance of his home was open; it had been secured when he left earlier in the day. He also noticed a shattered glass door. He then entered his residence and found several rooms had been ransacked and the reported items missing.

The residential burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

 

 

Oct. 23

1000 block of Stratford Drive in La Cañada, clothing and personal information were stolen from an unlocked vehicle between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, an employee reported witnessing two suspects enter the store and leave with several items. The first suspect was described as a white male, 6’ tall and weighing about 170 lbs. who at the time was wearing a red/black shirt with a black hat. The second suspect was described as a white female, 5’5” tall and weighing about 140 lbs. who at the time was wearing white and blue shorts. According to the report, the suspects entered the store and began gathering large amounts of various items and placing them into the store’s shopping cart and a mesh bag. The male exited the store while the female went to the checkout stand and had some of the items scanned. With some of the items still in the mesh bag, a cashier began to check out other items. The woman entered a credit card to pay for the items; it was declined and the woman grabbed all of the scanned items and, along with the items in the mesh bag, exited the store.

The shoplifting theft occurred at 7:39 p.m.

 

 

Oct. 22

2200 block of Waltonia Drive in Montrose, a catalytic converter was stolen from a work truck between Oct. 22-25.
