The general meeting of the Crescenta Valley Town Council is tonight, Thursday, Sept. 21 at the La Crescenta Library. All are invited.

Town Hall Meeting with Laura Friedman
A town hall meeting with State Assemblymember – 43rd District Laura Friedman is Friday, Sept. 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Flintridge Preparatory School. All are invited to join Assemblymember Friedman and a panel of business and policy leaders as they discuss the strengths, challenges, and ever-changing opportunities for businesses in California as well as how our state’s ideological and economic goals can be better aligned.
Flintridge Preparatory School is located at 4543 Crown Ave., La Cañada Flintridge.
Living with Wildlife
The community is invited to join a tour of the Rosemont Preserve on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. It will be hosted by Paul Rabinov.  
Have you ever wondered where the Rosemont Preserve is? Or what goes on there? Rabinov, long-time La Crescenta resident and co-chair of Friends of the Rosemont Preserve, will lead the tour recounting the history of the Preserve, how it came about and how it has been transformed into a valuable asset to the community. Learn about the plants and animals who inhabit the Preserve, as well as how to deal with local wildlife.
Due to limited parking at the Preserve, attendees are asked to park at Two Strike Park at 5107 Rosemont Ave. Wear sturdy shoes to walk the trail and bring a hat and water if it’s hot.

Babysitting Classes at USC-VHH
A babysitting training class is on Saturday, Sept. 30
from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at USC-VHH. The cost is $45.
There will also be a CPR class on Monday, Oct. 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  that teaches responses to adults, children and infants. The cost is $60.

Friedman Secures Riverwalk Funds
California Assemblymember Laura Friedman secured $20 million in state funding to complete the Glendale Narrows Riverwalk project. The third and final phase of the project will link the existing Riverwalk and Glendale Bikeway system with the Los Angeles bike trail and Griffith Park through a bicycle and pedestrian bridge spanning the Los Angeles River. The funding is included in Senate Bill 5, the California Drought, Water, Parks, Climate, Coastal Protection, and Outdoor Access for All Act of 2018. The bond measure will go before the voters for approval next year.
Explore America’s Great Outdoors
Angeles National Forest officials invite the public to visit the America’s Great Outdoors (AGO) exhibit at the LA County fair this week.
Employees and Youth Conservation Corps volunteers are on hand at the exhibit to talk about camping, recreation, resource management and fire danger on public lands. The Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Los Angeles County Forestry and Fire Dept., and National Park Service are partners in the AGO exhibit. The LA County Fair is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, until Sept. 24.
