The annual Montrose Film Festival was the place to be last weekend. The family-friendly movies were screened to a packed open-air house in the parking lot of Andersen’s Pet Shop. Years ago this was where the Montrose Theatre once stood before fire destroyed it in the late 1980s.

Free popcorn was handed out and sodas and water were sold, thanks to the volunteers from Crescenta Valley High School robotics 589 team. The proceeds from the sale of the sodas and water went to help support the team.

In addition to the movies, cars were on display from the Early Rodders and both evenings’ screenings were preceded by live music and cartoons.
