Three suspects were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of vehicle burglary in La Crescenta.

Jason Won Yoon, 19, Ji Min Park, 18, both from La Crescenta and Daniel Hong,18, from Montrose were arrested after a call came in from neighbors in the 2700 block of Frances Avenue in La Crescenta.

According to Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s report, deputies responded at 2 a.m. to the Frances neighborhood and was informed by witnesses that three men, later identified as Yoon, Park and Hong, were seen in the neighborhood near vehicles.

A witness said his wife woke him and said she had allegedly seen someone with a flashlight looking into a neighbor’s vehicle. The witness looked out his window and saw two people with flashlights inside the neighbors car. He went outside to investigate and when he was in the middle of the street he allegedly saw Yoon and Park, who immediately fled westbound. He then saw Hong come out of the shadows. The witness told him to stop and that the sheriffs were on their way. At this point the suspect yelled “No” and began pushing his way past the witness. Hong fell to the ground, and as he did two pairs of sunglasses fell apparently from his hand or pocket. The suspect jumped up off the ground and ran to a 2009 Black Honda Civic and drove off.

Deputies put out a crime broadcast and the suspects vehicle was stopped a short time later.

All three suspects were in the Honda Civic. They were arrested, said Sgt. Ray Harley.

Several stolen items from vehicles in the 2700 block of Frances Avenue were found in the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.

“We suspect the suspects may be responsible for prior vehicle burglaries in the area,” Harley said.
