July 13

600 block of Hillcrest Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a report concerning a residential burglary. The informant reported going to the residence and collecting mail and doing a quick walk around the property. What he found was the sliding glass door open leading to one of the bedrooms. The room appeared to be ransacked. 

The residential burglary was reported at 2 p.m.

July 12

1900 block of Verdugo Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, the victim/informant reported that he had arrived at the business where he was employed and parked in the parking lot. He put his laptop computer under the rear passenger seat of the vehicle, out of view. He then locked the vehicle via his key fob and heard the alarm activate. When he ended his shift at work he went to his vehicle, unlocked the vehicle with his key fob, and entered it. He searched for his laptop but could not find it. He used the Apple “Find My” application and it appeared to “ping” nearby; however, neither the victim nor the deputies could find the laptop. 

The theft occurred between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

July 11

2500 block of Evelyn Street in Montrose, a report came into the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station regarding grand theft. The informant reported that three males inside a black, four-door sedan stole the catalytic converter from the informant’s vehicle. The informant reported that he was awakened from sleep due to the sound of tool cutting on metal. He looked out of his bedroom window and saw a black, four-door sedan facing west. He saw an unknown person – Suspect No. 1 – at the rear driver side of his vehicle apparently acting as lookout while Suspect No. 2 attempted to cut from the vehicle the catalytic converter. The informant ran to his front door and yelled at them; he saw Suspect No. 1 run to the suspect’s vehicle and Suspect No. 2 entered that vehicle through the rear passenger door. The informant/victim checked his vehicle and found the catalytic converter had been cut. The suspect’s vehicle appeared to be a 2010 Nissan-type of sedan. 

The theft occurred at 2:36 a.m.

July 10

2700 block of Orange Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident was notified of a power outage at the location. He arrived at the location at about 8 a.m. and saw the power meters had been cut in to. He noticed two of the power wires were cut off and taken. He believed the suspect/suspects cut open the power meters and power plants to steal copper wires. 

The incident occurred at 2:47 a.m. 

July 9

900 block of Town Center Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, an informant reported that he was alerted by a security guard that two people had walked into the store and were acting suspicious. He walked to the area where the security guard had seen the individuals and saw a man, Suspect No. 1 described as White, about 30 years old with blonde hair and wearing a black beanie, a black-and-white striped shirt and black pants. The second man, Suspect No. 2, was described as a White adult, about 30 years old, wearing a white hoodie and gray pants. The suspects walked to where the vacuum cleaners were located and attempted to take a vacuum cleaner from the stand but they were unable to remove the vacuums. They then went to another area of the store  where Suspect No. 1 grabbed a router and placed it inside a red shopping basket. Suspect No. 1 then met with Suspect No. 2 in the medical aisle and took about 16 boxes of nicotine gum. They then both walked out of the store without attempting to pay at 7:39 p.m.
