3000 block of Prospect Avenue in Montrose, a man arrived home from work around midnight and parked his company car in front of his home. When he awoke a few hours later he discovered his vehicle was missing. The vehicle had a Global Positioning System that tracked the vehicle to the 4200 block of Encinal Avenue where the GPS device was found. It appeared the device had been torn from the vehicle and discarded. Surveillance video showed at about 5:10 a.m. a black SUV-type vehicle drove past the stolen vehicle. An unknown man exited the SUV and walked toward the victim’s car. The man apparently entered the vehicle. The stolen vehicle and the SUV drove away.
The stolen vehicle is described as a white 2009 Ford E-250 van. The incident occurred at 5:15 a.m.
July 7
3000 block of Encinal Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident reported hearing knocking on the front door of a residence. Shortly after it began, it stopped. He then heard what sounded like someone tampering with the front fence. The resident went outside and saw two men described as black, 18 to 25 years old and, at the time, were wearing hooded sweatshirts with the hoods over their heads. Once they saw the man looking at them they fled the area.
The incident occurred at 9:51 a.m.
July 5
1400 block of Descanso Drive in La Cañada, the rear window, tail lights and front headlights were broken on a vehicle overnight.
July 4
3000 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, several tools were stolen from a vehicle overnight.
June 28
4400 block of La Crescenta Avenue in La Crescenta, a mobile storage unit at the north end of a church parking lot was vandalized with spray-painted graffiti between June 28 and July 3.
May 12
300 block of Saint Katherine Drive in La Cañada, a resident was notified by her alarm company that an alarm at her home had been activated. The security company was dispatched and CV Sheriff’s Station was contacted. She was later told by the alarm company that there was no crime indicated at her home. Later that same day she noticed pry marks on a bedroom window and that one of her closets had been ransacked. Two envelopes containing cash were stolen.
The burglary occurred at 6 a.m.
