By Mary O’KEEFE

St. Luke’s of the Mountains Episcopal Church invites everyone to an afternoon tea.

St. Luke’s, the stone church on the corner of Foothill Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue, celebrated its 100th anniversary last year. The church is a community meeting hall hosting numerous local non-profit organizations including Prom Plus, Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce, Crescenta Valley Lions Club and many more.

This Saturday, June 21, the congregation is hosting a centennial high tea that will include a silent auction. The proceeds will be shared with the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles for fire response and resources.

Since the January Pacific Palisades and Eaton fires, St. Luke’s has been supporting with food support those who have been affected by the fires. Fresh fruits and vegetables have been shared through Seeds of Peace, an Episcopal outreach.

All are invited to enjoy an afternoon tea at this historic church.

“It will be a fun event that will also support the Diocese outreach and St. Luke’s,” said Vanessa Ynda, organizer and St. Luke’s member.

Tickets for the centennial high tea are $35. Please RSVP to info@stlukeslacrescenta.org or call (818) 248-3639. The event is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a silent auction preview beginning at 1 p.m.

St. Luke’s of the Mountains is located at 2563 Foothill Blvd.
