Arts & Crafts Festival
The Montrose Shopping Park Assn. will be hosting the annual Arts & Crafts Festival on Saturday and Sunday in the shopping park. Hundreds of fine artists, crafters, food vendors, California certified farmers, musicians and entertainers will be in the 2200-2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue. There is no admission charge to enter and free parking all around the Park. Hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
GPD Open House
The Glendale Police Dept. is hosting its annual open house on Saturday, June 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. On display will be the police helicopter, SWAT, the GPD forensics team, K-9 demonstrations, a climbing wall for the kids and much more.

Rosemont Preserve Open Gate Afternoon
An “open gate” event is taking place at the Rosemont Preserve on Sunday afternoon, June 4. This is a chance for residents to visit the Preserve and wander the trail at their own pace and enjoy the tranquil setting, the wildlife and the natural beauty. Photographers: bring your camera to capture the morning light.
The gate will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Friends of the Rosemont Preserve Committee members will be available to answer questions and present information about this community resource.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. Those planning on walking the trails should wear sturdy shoes.
This event is free to the public and suitable for all ages; no reservations required. Rain cancels. Sorry, no pets please.

Clean Energy Bill Passes Assembly
On Tuesday, two bills to reduce California’s reliance on fossil fuels authored by local Assemblymember Laura Friedman passed the Assembly. AB 1400 will phase out the use of fossil fuel generators used to back up microgrids, and AB 1414 caps the fees for solar installation to keep systems within reach of consumers.
Both bills received bipartisan support and now move to the Senate for further action.
Native Plant Hike
The City of Glendale-Community Services & Park Dept. is hosting a plant hike/program on Saturday, June 3 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (note the change in start time) at Deukmejian Wilderness Park. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and long sleeves, sunscreen and a hat.

GCC Holds Spring Ceramics Sale
The Spring Ceramics Sale, a fundraising event for the Glendale Community College Ceramics Dept., will be held Saturday, June 3 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Center.
A large selection of handmade functional and decorative items made by art students in porcelain, stoneware, raku, majolica and earthenware will be available for purchase.
Proceeds from the sale go toward equipment and supplies for the department as well as bringing guest lecturers and workshops to the GCC Ceramics Studio.
