La Cañada Boulevard and La Pequelia Lane in La Cañada, deputies responded to a call concerning a man described as black, 18 years old, driving a dark colored Kia SUV in front of a home while making threats against a resident. The deputy arrived in the area and observed a white Porsche Cayenne traveling northbound on La Cañada Boulevard. The vehicle had dark tinted windows that were so dark the deputy was unable to see the driver or any other occupants. The vehicle had paper plates. The vehicle continued to drive through the neighborhoods and did not stop at a stop sign.
The deputy activated his patrol unit’s lights; however, due to the tinted windows, he did not believe the driver of the vehicle noticed him. The vehicle continued on Angeles Crest, tailgating another vehicle and changing lanes, narrowly avoiding a collision. The vehicle got onto the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway then onto the southbound Glendale (2) Freeway. The deputy attempted to make a traffic stop. It was determined the Porsche was identical to a vehicle that was used in burglary in the area in the past. The deputy continued the pursuit on the 2 Freeway until he was ordered to halt the pursuit. The incident occurred at 11:44 a.m.
