The Glendale Police Dept. has made an arrest on the driver of the fatal hit and run case from April.

67-year-old Goar Davtyan of Glendale was taken into custody on Friday, May 13 just before 6 p.m. Investigators had previously identified Davtyan as a person of interest early on in the investigation. However, an arrest was not immediately made at the time until additional evidence was collected and processed. Goar Davtyan was charged with felony hit & run and felony vehicular manslaughter. Her daughter, 41-year-old Alina Davtyan of Glendale, was also arrested for accessory to a crime and filing a false insurance claim.

The hit and run  involved a pedestrian which occurred on April 16 at approximately 8 p.m. The 81-year-old male pedestrian Martiros Arutyunyan of Glendale.was crossing Broadway at the intersection of Belmont Street when he was struck by a white sedan. The pedestrian sustained head injuries and later died at the hospital.

The striking vehicle fled the scene and was only described as a white newer sedan being driven by a female.
