Y Hosting Pancake Breakfast
The Crescenta Valley Family YMCA is hosting its annual Y-Tribes pancake breakfast and family fun day on Saturday, May from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Free admission, but donations collected will benefit sending local kids to camp.

‘Marco Millions’ Opens in GCC Studio Theatre
Eugene O’Neill’s “Marco Millions” will be staged by the Glendale Community College Theatre Arts Dept. in the Auditorium Studio Theatre for eight performances beginning May 3.
“Marco Millions” is the story of Marco Polo, the young explorer of the Far East, as told by one America’s leading playwrights. O’Neill clearly takes aim at the politics of his time, and ends up with a beautiful and poignant allegory for all time.
Performances of “Marco Millions” will be held at 8 p.m. on May 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12. Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. are May 6 and 12. Tickets are $15 general admission and $12 for students and seniors. They can be purchased online at www.glendalearts.org or at the college box office in the Auditorium and other Glendale locations. Tour the Rosemont Preserve with Dana Stangel, Wildlife Educator
Join Wildlife Educator Dana Stangel of Teranga Ranchas on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to learn more about our coyote neighbors. Stangel is a credentialed biology teacher and an urban wildlife specialist. She has been working with both domesticated animals and wildlife for over 20 years.
This event is free to the public, all ages, no reservations required. Sturdy shoes, long pants, and a hat are recommended, as are water and sunscreen.
Rain cancels event. Sorry, no pets please.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave., La Crescenta, and then walk north two blocks to enter the Rosemont Preserve.
Arbor Day at Rosemont Preserve
The Crescenta Valley Town Council will be honoring Friends of the Rosemont Preserve in an Arbor Day tree planting celebration on Sunday, April 29 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Enjoy the outdoors with a special focus on trail activities for families. It’s a great opportunity to learn about local plants, animals, and local Native American heritage at the Preserve. It’s also an opportunity to meet local councilmembers, community leaders, volunteers and agency representatives.
All are invited to see what’s going on at the Preserve and learn of the plans to redesign the entry way!
The Preserve is at the top of La Crescenta Avenue. Due to limited parking, park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. in walk two blocks north.
Prayer Breakfast Plans Coming Together
LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger is the guest speaker at the 7th Annual Prayer Breakfast on May 12 at St. Luke’s of the Mountains. The Prayer Breakfast will include a performance by the Crescenta Valley High School Charismatics.
The breakfast is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; tickets are $10 and students are free.
